Standard DBS Check

Our fastest turnaround is available on a Standard DBS check, often referred to as a Standard CRB or Standard Disclosure.

What is a standard DBS check?

Standard disclosure checks show the following criminal history:
  • Spent convictions
  • Unspent convictions
  • Cautions
  • Reprimands
As opposed to the enhanced DBS check, the standard check does not disclose any other police information, neither checks the individual against the ISA Children’s or Adults’ barred lists. Hence it can be processed much faster than enhanced checks. The standard DBS check should not be used as a quicker alternative to an enhanced disclosure. Individuals who work with children or vulnerable adults must apply for an enhanced disclosure; as a standard level of check is not applicable here. Not sure which one suits you better? Who is the standard DBS suitable for?

The standard DBS check is only suitable for a limited number of occupations specified in the Exceptions Order to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. To apply for a DBS check, individuals must have their proof of ID and proof of address documents verified by their current or prospective employer.
